I am Haruki Sakamoto, a respiratory specialist currently working at the University of Tokyo Hospital. I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, and had the opportunity to pursue medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada, where I completed my medical training in 2007. With more than 15 years of experience in the respiratory field, I have directly treated and accompanied thousands of patients with diseases such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, sleep disorders and chronic respiratory problems. I believe that medicine is not only a science but also an art of understanding and connection. As an introvert but profound person, I always listen to patients with both my heart and mind. I focus not only on symptoms but also on the quality of life, psychology and personal circumstances of each person.
