Hello, I’m Liam O’Connor, an Irishman born and raised amidst the lush green fields of Dublin, where the cheers from Gaelic football matches echo like the heartbeat of our nation. From a young age, I was captivated by the intersection of sports and medicine those afternoons spent running across the grass, mixed with the worry of seeing friends fall injured. That passion drove me to University College Dublin in 2003, where I spent six rigorous years buried in books and laboratories, graduating in 2009 with an MB, BCh, BAO degree.
Not stopping there, I crossed the Atlantic to the United States, earning an advanced certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in 2011, where I learned to transform scientific data into practical recovery programs.
My career truly took off at St. Vincent’s University Hospital from 2010 to 2015, where I served as a resident physician, handling hundreds of cases — from bone fractures to Achilles tendonitis in young athletes. Those years taught me that sports medicine isn’t just about healing the body it’s about restoring the spirit. A single smile after a recovery session can be more powerful than any prescription.
In 2016, I joined Sports Clinic Ireland as the Head Specialist, leading a team that supports top rugby and Gaelic football stars. One of my proudest milestones came in 2020, during the pandemic, when I designed an online training program that helped over 200 athletes maintain their performance safely a lasting lesson in adaptability that I still value deeply.
My professional philosophy is simple: “Sports are life, but health is the foundation.” I’m committed to delivering the highest quality care, guided by scientific evidence and ACSM-based research on injury prevention — particularly knee-related issues.
With an outgoing nature and a touch of Irish humor — I often joke that “injury is the enemy, but coffee is the ally” — I always strive to create a comfortable, trusting environment for my patients. Whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend runner, I’m here to help you get back on the field stronger than ever.
Reach out, and together, we’ll write the next chapter of your victory story.
